Chipper Told to Remove "Deep Fried Mars Bar" Banner

A Stonehaven chipper's been asked to remove a banner, hailing it as the birthplace of the "World Famous Deep Fried Mars Bar.

According to local legend the notorious Scottish delicacy was invented more than twenty years ago at what is now the Carron Fish Bar.

It's claimed thousands of tourists come to Stonehaven to have their picture taken under the banner.

But now a letter's been sent by Aberdeenshire Council, asking for it to be removed to improve the appearance of the town.

The owners are refusing to take it down, saying it must be pick on local chip shops week.
