Cars targeted in Inverness thefts
Five roads hit by early-morning robberies
Police in Inverness are issuing an urgent appeal to the public after a spate of thefts from vehicles.
A number of vehicles were targeted overnight from Monday 24th of July into Tuesday in the Ballifeary Lane, Culduthel Park, Gordonville Road, Ashie Road and Morven Road areas of the city.
Among the vehicles affected were taxis and a works van with small sums of cash and electrical items having been stolen.
Police are appealing for information on two men who were riding mountain bikes and reported to have been seen acting suspiciously in the Culduthel Park area around 5am.
Two men wearing a blue hoodie and the second a black hoodie were later reported as having been seen acting suspiciously in the area around Inverness Leisure Centre.
Police enquiries into these incidents are ongoing and officers wish to remind drivers to keep their vehicles and personal belongings as secure as possible at all times.
Inspector Alex Chisholm said: "While nothing is foolproof, I would urge people to take common sense steps to try and minimise the risk of them becoming victims.
"Our enquiries into the recent incidents are ongoing and we are seeking the support of the public in reporting any suspicious people, vehicles or activity that they see in their communities.
"If anybody discovers damage to their vehicle which has not yet been reported to Police then I would urge them to get in touch as soon as possible.
"Anybody who can help us should contact Police by calling 101 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if they wish to remain anonymous.
