Bands and musicians from across the north of Scotland are being given a new outlet to showcase their music.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle will now include songs from local artists on match days.

For fifteen minutes before the match and during the half time interval on a match day, local musicians will have the opportunity to have their music played over the tannoy system.

Commercial manager for the club Iain Auld said: “The Highlands have a thriving music scene and we’d like to introduce a local flavour to our match day build up.

“We already have a great relationship with HMV Inverness, who supply us with match day music but we’d like to have some local bands in amongst popular crowd pleasers.”

Inverness Caledonian Thistle beat Falkirk in the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden last May and the song Scenes of Red and Blue by Inverness band Tale Of Two Cities was chosen as the official anthem of the final.

Bassist Lewis Murray told mfr.co.uk: “It was a real privilege playing a part in the most memorable and special day in the history of my local club.

“The north of Scotland has a fantastic array of local bands with different styles of music, it’s local music for the local people supporting their local team.”

Anyone interested in having their music played at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium should contact iain.auld@ictfc.co.uk or send CD’s into Iain Auld, ICTFC, Stadium Road, Inverness, IV1 1FF.
