A Moray town has seen action in response to drug dealing in the area with an operation involving CID, the violence reduction unit and the operational support unit.

On Wednesday morning officers carried out a drug search warrant at an address in the Buckie area. As well as addressing the drug dealing in the area it is also in response to members of an organised crime group operating in Buckie.

DC Steve Borzoni said "We are committed to reducing the harm that drugs can bring to our community. We do not want organised crime groups coming to the area and settling so we will continue to take action to stop this happening"

Police also recovered a machete along with a quantity of drugs

Following the warrant, a machete and a quantity of drugs were seized from the address.

Police say enquiries are currently still ongoing.
