Boy, 12, seriously hurt in Moray motorcycle crash

A 12-year-old boy is in hospital with serious injuries after the motorbike he was riding with his father was involved in a crash with a car towing a caravan.

A 12-year-old boy is in hospital with serious injuries after the motorbike he was riding with his father was involved in a crash with a car towing a caravan.

The boy was riding pillion on the motorcycle being driven by his father, 51, when the accident happened on the A96 Inverness to Aberdeen road east of Forres, Moray, at 11.55am on Sunday.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "The 12-year-old boy sustained serious injuries and the 51-year-old man suffered minor injuries.

"The A96 is currently closed whilst investigations take place at the scene."

Both casualties were taken to Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin for treatment.
