Ross County defender Jason Naismith believes any piece of luck would be welcome as the Dingwall club attempt to avoid a 13th match without a win.

Wednesday they host Aberdeen, who turned in a glittering second-half display to dispatch Killie at the weekend, while Sunday saw yet another defeat for the Staggies.

Speaking to MFR News following the 2-1 scoreline against Rangers, Naismith said: "We really just need to strike a result from somewhere and hopefully that can spark a run. Once you can get into a back-to-back situation then that might be enough to start propelling you up the league"

County have failed to get consecutive wins this season and it's now not since November that they've tasted victory. Last time they took on the Dons it was - yet another - narrow defeat, where County had taken the lead.

"We're trying to look at the positives, in many of those games we've not been getting trounced, it's just all about turning the 1-0s into our favour and taking our chances", said Naismith.

That said, there have been times - like Rangers' second goal on Sunday - where County haven't helped their own cause.

"The mistakes haven't been good enough at this level", adds Naismith, "You're going to get punished 9-times-out-of-10. That said, it's always been close games against Aberdeen, they're a team that seem to find a way of taking the points. It's still a winnable game - they're a good team, but not world-beaters - Derek McInnes has them well-drilled and they're the second-most consistent team in Scotland over the last few years"

Killie took the lead at Pittodrie on Saturday, in quite curious circumstances, and Naismith believes a Kris Boyd off-the-bum special might be the key to their revival.

"No that would be really good - maybe my backside would be big enough to take it in(!) We just need a wee break, if we can get in front I believe we can hang on, but we'll need to be at our maximum to take something"
