Body recovered from car following crash near Elgin

A body has been found in a car after it crashed on an unclassified road in Moray.

The crash, which involved a silver-coloured Mercedes-Benz E280, happened yesterday morning at around 05:20 between the A96 and the B9103.

Police say a body was recovered and the road is closed for crash investigation work.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Road policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash near Elgin on Monday, 29 July 2024.

"The crash happened around 5.20am on an unclassified road between the A96 and the B9103 and involved a silver-coloured Mercedes-Benz E280.

"A body was recovered from the vehicle.

"The road is closed for crash investigation work.

Sergeant Iain Nicolson added: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing to anyone in the area at the time and who saw anything to get in touch.

“We are also asking road users to check their dash-cam and make contact with us if there is any information that could help with our investigation.”
