Body of missing hillwalker in Wester Ross found after seven week search
Neil Gibson from Nairn disappeared more than seven weeks ago on a hike with his brother.
The body of 63 year old Neil Gibson was found on 25 March 2018 after both he and his brother Alan, along with their pet dog Archie, vanished on a hike in in the Achnashellach area of Strathcarron on 8 February 2018.
Searchers found the body of 56 year old Alan Gibson and their dog Archie from the Beinn Liath Mhor area two days after they disappeared.
Sergeant Graham Cameron said: 'I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to all the volunteers and partner search agencies that made tireless efforts to find Neil, Alan and Archie.
'As always, they persevered and worked incredibly hard to battle some difficult and dangerous conditions in the hope of giving their family and friends some closure.
'My thoughts remain with Neil and Alan's family today, who have shown such strength and bravery when faced with such a tragedy.'
