A woman's family have been informed after a body was found in Inverness.

Police issued an appeal yesterday, saying Eleanor Mallet hasn't been seen since Saturday in the Milton of Leys area.

Officers say a body was found yesterday evening and there are no suspicious circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The body of a woman was found in Inverness during the evening of Wednesday, 12 October, 2022.

"Formal identification is still to take place but the family of Eleanor Mallet, 65, who had been reported missing from Inverness, has been informed.

"There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
