The bodies of two elderly women who went missing in Moray have been found following police searches.
The bodies of two elderly women who went missing in Moray have been found following police searches.
Kathleen Edward, 85, from Aberlour, was reported missing at around 2.30pm on Tuesday and Rosemary Laing, 77, from the Rothes area, was reported missing on Wednesday.
Police Scotland confirmed that a body recovered earlier on Thursday during searches of the River Spey near the Bridge of Sourden, Rothes, has been identified as that of Ms Edward.
A second body - also recovered in the Bridge of Sourden area on Thursday - has now been confirmed as that of Ms Laing.
The deaths are not thought to be related.
Chief Inspector Stewart Mackie said: I would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for their help and information in relation to the searches for both ladies.
The support from the public for both of these sad cases has been very much appreciated.
