Biker Dies In A947 Crash

A biker in his 50's has been killed after his motorbike collided with a grey Audi A1 near Plaidy, in Aberdeenshire.

A biker in his 50's has been killed after his motorbike collided with a grey Audi A1 near Plaidy, in Aberdeenshire. The accident happened around 7.45am this morning on the A947 between Turriff and Banff. The police are expecting the road to be closed for some time.

Road Policing Inspector Ewan Innes said: "Both vehicles were travelling south on the A947 and we are appealing for anyone who may have seen the vehicles prior to the collision to speak to us. "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died and a full collision investigation will be carried out to establish the circumstances."
