Biker badly hurt in crash with ambulance, after earlier accident near Loch Ness

The ambulance had been taking a casualty to hospital after a bus came off the road

A motorcyclist has suffered serious injuries following a collision with an ambulance on the banks of Loch Ness.

The two vehicle crash happened on the A82 two miles south of Urquhart Castle in the Highlands at around 3.25pm on Sunday.

Police said the biker was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness with serious injuries.

The ambulance had been taking a casualty to hospital after an earlier accident near Invergarry.

A bus left the road and ended up on its side. Everyone was out of the vehicle by the time the emergency services arrived, but one person was airlifted to hospital and the second was taken by road.
