Bay City Rollers join T in the Park line-up
The band, touring again after enjoying massive success in the 1970s, will join the likes of Calvin Harris and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers at Scotland's biggest music festival.
Pop veterans the Bay City Rollers will perform at this year's T in the Park.
The band, touring again after enjoying massive success in the 1970s, will join the likes of Calvin Harris and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers at Scotland's biggest music festival.
Organisers said "Rollermania'' is set to return with the announcement that the Scots group will perform on Saturday July 9.
The first track from their new album will be released in the summer.
Singer Les McKeown said: "This album sounds like the tape machines were never switched off in the 70s, and we never missed a beat.''
Original members McKeown, Alan Longmuir and Stuart Wood revealed they were getting back together last autumn and tickets for a series of reunion gigs in Glasgow in December sold out in minutes.
Formed at the end of the 1960s, the band had a huge following at home and abroad with their distinctive tartan outfits and upbeat pop tunes like Bye Bye Baby and Shang-a-Lang.
They split in 1978, with bitter battles over money between band members and managers dragging on for decades.
T in the Park will take place at Strathallan, Perthshire, for the second time after moving from Balado in Kinross-shire.
Organisers say they have made improvements to the new site following criticisms of lengthy delays and traffic queues from festival-goers last year.
The Stone Roses, Travis, Disclosure, James Bay and Tom Odell are among the line-up for the three-day event.
