Bad Weather Affects Search For Distressed Whale
Poor weather has hampered efforts to trace the mammal spotted off the coast of Helmsdale yesterday.
A search for a Humpback Whale reportedly tangled in rope off the north coast has been called off due to bad weather.
Fisherman spotted the mammal off the coast of Helmsdale yesterday.
British Divers Marine Life Rescue were told and set out to investigate.
But efforts were hampered because of adverse weather conditions.
A spokesperson said: "We received a report of a humpback whale tangled in black rope and got a team together to investigate.
"Unfortunately we had to called that off due to weather conditions."
