Asbestos Sparks Inquiry @ Inverness Beach

SEPA confirmed its investigation discovery of hazardous material at Milton of Culloden.

The discovery of asbestos on an Inverness beach has sparked a probe.

SEPA is investigating the find at Milton of Culloden.

The environmental agency confirmed an inquiry is being launched into the hazardous material.

A spokesperson said: “SEPA has received a complaint from a member of the public regarding the dumping of asbestos in Milton of Culloden.

“A SEPA officer has attended the site to investigate and confirmed the presence of a quantity of asbestos in a secluded area of the beach.

"We would advise the public to contact our Pollution Hotline on 0800 80 70 60 if they have information about this.”
