Ange Postecoglou praises 'dominant' Celtic after Livingston win

The Parkhead side restored their three point lead at the top of the table with a 3-1 win

Ange Postecoglou says he was pleased with all aspects of Celtic's play as they beat Livingston 3-1 at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

Daizen Maeda put Celtic ahead in the 17th minute, soon after Callum McGregor missed a penalty, and Nicky Devlin's own goal doubled the visitors' lead in the opening moments of the second half.

James Forrest ran onto Jota's through ball before Andrew Shinnie pulled one back for the hosts but there was never any danger of Celtic relinquishing their lead as they restored their three-point advantage over Rangers in the table with eight games left.

Celtic had not scored in their previous two games against Livi this season and the home side had pushed up to the top six by collecting 17 points so far in 2022.

Postecoglou said: "Yeah, very pleasing, We kind of know it's a difficult place to come and win, more importantly, I thought we played really well.

"We were dominant from the first minute, we still kept our patterns, created good chances, they were always a threat from set pieces but that was really the only threat.

"They are a big side so it always going to be a bit of a challenge for us but I thought we handled it well.

"The key is to approach each game, every challenge, in the same way, and that is what we do.

"We kind of knew, it was a difficult venue, difficult opponent, we still thought the answers lay in playing our football.

"A good energy, a good tempo."

Livingston boss David Martindale was unhappy with decisions that didn't go their way.

The corner Celtic scored their opening goal from looked to be wrongly awarded after coming off Anthony Ralston last.

Martindale also says Tom Rogic handled the ball in the build-up to Celtic's second goal.
