Man accused of abducting 11-year-old girl faces new charges following second court appearance

A man accused of abducting an 11-year-old girl in the Borders has now been charged with a series of sex offences.

Andrew Miller was also charged with threatening or abusive behaviour when he appeared at Selkirk Sheriff Court last week.

The 53-year-old now faces further charges including the sexual assault of a young child and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

During a private hearing, via a video link today (Friday), Miller was also accused of being in possession of indecent images of children, sexual exposure and causing a young child to look at a sexual image.

Miller, who gave an address in the Scottish Borders, made no plea to the charges and was remanded in custody.

His next court appearance is yet to be confirmed.
