Amazon take action to investigate unfair delivery charges

Moray MSP Richard Lochhead has welcomed a commitment from Amazon to investigate parcel delivery surcharges imposed by some companies selling on its website.
The company has offered to work with Mr Lochhead, confirming they'll “investigate and take appropriate action” where Amazon sellers have breached company rules by failing to be upfront over delivery charges.
Amazon will also consider how the wider issues highlighted by the 'Fair Delivery Charges campaign' - with it estimated that higher delivery surcharges cost Scotland an extra £36 million a year.
The Moray MSP recently sent a dossier of 124 companies identified for unfair delivery practices to the Advertising Standards Agency.
