Ross County forward Alex Schalk admits they have to start vindicating their assertion that they should be a top-six side.
Schalk is confident County can push for a second consecutive season in the top half of the Premiership but they travel to St Johnstone on Saturday propping up the table.
Schalk said: "We are only three points off the top six. We have a massive opportunity on Saturday to narrow the gap with St Johnstone as well but you can't keep saying that. You have to grab these opportunities.
"We are going to go on a run now that will help us back into the top six, I am confident of that.
"The manager wants us to be an established top-six side, that has worked well so far but we have had a bad start.
"We can look up to St Johnstone and how well they are doing but I think with the ability we have in this group, we should be there as well. It's not all luck but we are unlucky to not be there right now."
County are looking to build on their recent point with Rangers when they face Saints, which comes before a run of four home matches out of five, starting with the visit of Hamilton.
"We have to take these opportunities," the Dutchman said. "The next two games are massive. If you want to be in the top six and be the team we want to be, then we need to take these points."
