A9 crash near Alness claims the life of 63-year-old man
The two-vehicle incident occurred around 8:10am on Wednesday morning
Following a crash on the A9 near Alness a 63-year-old man has been killed.
He was the sole occupant of the Fiat Bravo involved in a collision with a lorry, around about 8:10am on Wednesday morning close to the junction for Milnafua.
The driver of the lorry was treated on-scene for non-serious injuries, with the road closed in both directions until mid-afternoon.
Police, ambulance and fire crews from Invergordon, Tain, Dingwall and Inverness responded to the incident, with Road Policing Sergeant Alasdair Mackay saying:

"Our investigation into the collision is on-going and at an early stage"
"I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the collision or could have dash-cam footage to come forward as soon as possible"
