Continued rain has led to a landslide on the A897 at Kildonan.

The road surface has been partially washed away on the road from Helmsdale to Thurso and will be closed for the foreseeable future.

This has also resulted in problems on the railway line with a replacement bus service running on ScotRail between Ardgay and Wick and Helmsdale and Wick

Police Scotland, The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, British Transport Police and Network Rail are all working to repair the route.
