91-year-old seriously injured in Nairn car crash

A 91-year-old man has been seriously injured after a car crash in Nairn this evening.

Police rushed out to the junction of Thurlow Road and Seafield Street following the collision between a red Mazda, a black Honda and the pedestrian around 5pm.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen the incident.

Sergeant Kate Park of the Road Policing Unit said: "The pedestrian was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment for serious injuries.

"I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the crash to please come forward. If you have a dashcam, you may have captured footage which could assist our investigation.

“The road is currently closed to allow a full investigation to be carried out and local diversions are in place.
