Police Scotland have confirmed the identity of a man killed following a road traffic collision on the A833 near Kiltarlity.

Andrew Griffin (39) was from the Kiltarlity area and the sole occupant of a white Volkswagen Polo involved in the incident - around 10:30pm - on Saturday the 2nd of September.

The road was closed until 3:30am on Sunday to allow for a collision investigation to be carried out at the scene.

Sergeant Chris Murray, of the road policing unit, said: "Our thoughts are with Mr Griffin's family and friends at this time"

"Our enquiries are ongoing and I would appeal for any witnesses to the collision or who saw the vehicle traveling south from the Dingwall area prior to the collision who have not already spoken to officers to come forward"
