26-year-old man killed in early morning crash at Farr

A man has been killed following a one vehicle crash on the B851 on Wednesday morning. He was 26-year-old Shaun Allan from the Inverness area.

He was a passenger in an orange Ford Focus RS which was involved in the collision near Farr south of Inverness shortly before 7am.

The driver of the car was also taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness by ambulance for treatment to serious injuries.

A collision investigation was carried out at the scene, with the road re-opened shortly after 2pm.

Road Policing Sergeant Donnie Mackinnon said: "Our thoughts are with Mr Allan's family and friends at this time.

"We are continuing our enquiries into the collision and I would ask any witnesses who have not yet spoken to officers to get in touch.

"We would ask that anybody who saw the vehicle - an orange Ford Focus - on the B851 before the collision gets in touch on 101, quoting incident 486 of May 9.
