23-year-old passenger killed in A96 crash in Moray
Five involved in an RTC on the A96 between Elgin and Lhanbryde
A 23-year-old man has been killed following a Moray RTC on the A96 between Elgin and Lhanbryde, while a two-year-old boy and a 23-year-old woman are also in hospital with serious injuries.
The collision occurred at around 10.00am on Wednesday the 15th of November and involved a black Volkswagen Golf and a black Vauxhall Astra.
In total, three casualties were taken by ambulance to Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin. They were the 66 year old man, the single occupant of the Volkswagen, plus the 23 year old female driver of the Vauxhall Astra, both of whom have minor injuries. A two year old boy was taken to Dr Grays Hospital with serious injuries.
One female passenger, aged 23, was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
The person who has died, passed away at the scene, and was a male passenger in the Vauxhall Astra, aged 23.
Next of kin have been informed.
Road Policing Sergeant Steve Manson said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has sadly died as a result of today's collision"
"Our enquiries into the circumstances of the collision are ongoing and I would like to appeal to anyone who has vital information to get in touch, if they haven't already done so"
"At the time of the collision the Vauxhall Astra, which was carrying three adults and a child, was travelling on the A96 towards Lhanbryde. The VW Golf was travelling on the A96 towards Elgin."
