19.year old man due in court charged with series of thefts

The young man is accused of two vehicle thefts and a number of attempted house break-ins.

A 19-year-old man is due in Inverness Sheriff court today (Tuesday 20th of August) in relation to a number of thefts and attempted thefts in the Crown and Drummond area of Inverness.

The charges include two motor vehicle thefts, three thefts by house breaking and another attempted theft by house breaking.

All of the offences the 19-year-old has been accused of happened within the month of August.

Detective Constable Graham Gordon said: "We would like to thank the members of the public for their assistance during their enquiries."

"We are committed to tackling acquisitive crimes here in the north and we will use all available options to us to detect when they occur."

"I would like to remind householders to ensure that when leaving their property unattended to ensure that all windows, doors and outbuildings are locked. Also if you hear or see anything suspicious around a property then please call Police Scotland."
