11 year old boy dies in far north quad bike crash

An 11-year-old boy has died following a quad bike crash near Durness.

Emergency services rushed to the incident yesterday afternoon, but officers say the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Scotland have also confirmed his family have been made aware.

The boy has been named locally as Charlie Morrison.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We were made aware of a crash involving a quadbike on land near Durness around 4.20pm on Tuesday November 29.

"An 11-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin are aware.

"Inquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing."

This comes just after Police confirm two people have died following a crash north of Latheron.

A 46-year-old male driver and 50-year-old female passenger were both pronounced dead at the scene.
