It will debut in December
Following the phenomenally successful first season of Netflix's The Crown, the online streaming service has revealed some clips from the upcoming second season, along with its release date.
The first look was released across social media this afternoon (10th August) and shows the young Queen Elizabeth II, played by award-winning Claire Foy, just after the Second World War as the empire crumbles around her.
Based on the award-winning play, The Audience, the series reunites creator/writer Peter Morgan (The Queen) with director Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot) and producer Andy Harries (The Queen).
In the second season the series is to document to the romance between Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon, showing the young princess falling for the Lord, after meeting him at a dinner party in 1958.
The Crown and its cast have won or been nominated for countless awards including three Golden Globe nominations, from which Claire Foy won Best Actress – Television Series Drama and the series won Best Television Series – Drama.
