I'm A Celeb's Vernon Kay reveals he'd love to work with wife Tess Daly again

It’s been 13 years since the couple last worked together!

Fresh out of the I’m A Celeb 2020 Castle, Vernon Kay, has revealed his next career ambition is to work with his wife, Tess Daly again and we are so here for it.

Vernon, who came third on this year’s I’m A Celeb to winner Giovanna Fletcher, is keen to work with the Strictly Come Dancing star again, telling the Daily Star, “If we were to work together it would be an absolute dream.”

When speaking about his wife, Vernon said “I love working with Tess. She is one of the most dedicated presenters I’ve ever worked with.”

The pair have been married since 2003 and have two daughters together, and the last time we saw the pair on-screen together was for Just The Two Of Us, a singing contest presented by the couple.

11. Dougie Poynter

McFly guitarist Dougie Poynter was crowned King of the Jungle ahead of TOWIE's Mark Wright in 2011.

12. Charlie Brooks

EastEnders actress Charlie Brooks couldn't believe it when Ant and Dec announced her as the winner in 2012.

13. Kian Egan

After 22 days in the jungle, Westlife star Kian Egan was crowned the King in 2013.

14. Carl 'Foggy' Fogarty

Retired world super bike racer Carl 'Foggy' Fogarty won over the viewing public in 2014.

15. Vicky Pattison

Vicky Pattison showed a different side to her usual Geordie Shore antics, winning over the public and being crowned Queen of the Jungle.

16. Scarlett Moffatt

Former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt was crowned Queen of the Jungle after winning the show in 2016.

17. Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo

Made In Chelsea star Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo won the show in 2017 after beating Jamie Lomas.

18. Harry Redknapp

Former football manager Harry Redknapp is the current King of the Jungle after beating Emily Atack in 2018.

19. Jacqueline Jossa

Despite the likes of Ian Wright and Caitlyn Jenner signing up for the 2019 series, it was former EastEnders actress Jac Jossa who was crowned Queen of the Jungle, beating Coronation Street's Andy Whyment in the final.

20. Giovanna Fletcher

Podcaster Giovanna Fletcher became the first ever Queen of the Castle in 2020, going up against the likes of Shane Richie, Vernon Kay and Mo Farah!

21. Danny Miller

Emmerdale actor Danny Miller became the first ever KING of the Castle in 2021 after a hectic series. He went up against the likes of David Ginola, Simon Gregson and Frankie Bridge!

22. Jill Scott MBE

Former England footballer Jill Scott MBE topped her amazing year off by being crowned the Queen of the Jungle in November 2022. Jill won the show ahead of Owen Warner and Matt Hancock.

23. Sam Thompson

Radio presenter and TV personality Sam Thompson took the crown in 2023, winning the public's hearts and votes ahead of Tony Bellew and Nigel Farage.

Vernon shared a photo to his Instagram account on Saturday night of Tess who was on air presenting Strictly Come Dancing at the time, Vernon wrote "Hurry home @tessdaly !!" as the star was clearly excited to be reunited with with his wife.

He also added, 'So good to be dust and smoke free! No rice and beans!!!' as he had his first Saturday night at home since leaving the castle.

During his time in the I’m A Celeb castle, Vernon was often talking about ‘Tess and the girls’ and has said since leaving the show on Friday that being away from his family left him ‘emotionally drained’ as he was away from them for five weeks in total due to this year's contestants isolating for two weeks before the show began.

The former Family Fortunes Star, has spoken about how emotional he was when he was reunited with Tess and the girls again. He said “Tess is so, so proud. She is just elated.”

Throughout Vernon’s time in the castle he spoke about how all he wanted to do was make his family proud and he said the girls have “reassured me that I’d done that.”

Vernon was a fan favourite on I’m A Celeb this year, taking part in a number of trials and being one of the leading voices in camp. He came in third place on this year's series and it was clear people loved having him back on their screens again.

Fingers crossed we will be seeing more of Vernon, with Tess, on our TV’s soon!
