We may only be two episodes in to the brand new series of bonkers ITV/STV show The Masked Singer, but that hasn't stopped fans already coming up with various theories about the identity of this year's characters.

After Pointless host Alexander Armstrong was unmasked as Chicken Caesar during Saturday night's episode, fans are now "100% convinced" they've worked out the identity of Piranha.

Who is Piranha?

Although Piranha is still very much in the competition and therefore not yet been identified, viewers of the show have taken to social media to express their opinions, with many convinced it's actually McFly star Danny Jones.

One wrote: 'Catching up with the Masked Singer and knew within 0.1 second that Piranha is Danny Jones', with another writing: 'Only just caught up with the masked singer from last just, Piranha is defo Danny jones!!! #TheMaskedSingerUK'. (sic)

A third wrote: 'I don’t event watch the masked singer but I’d recognise those vocals anywhere 😍 the piranha is 100% Danny Jones!! #TheMaskedSingerUK'. (sic)

Another convinced viewer said: 'Catching up on The Masked Singer and Piranha is 1 MILLION PERCENT Danny Jones. I would recognise that voice anywhere. Been the voice of the last 21 years of my life 😍😍 #MaskedSingerUK'. (sic)

A fifth added: 'Piranha on Masked Singer has GOT to be Danny Jones from McFly, voice alone it's gotta be'. (sic)

Following Piranha's rendition of Celine Dion's 'It's All Coming Back to Me Now', judges Davina McCall, Rita Ora, Mo Gilligan, and Jonathan Ross all had their own guesses, with none of them guessing Danny.

The judges said names such as Sting, Jordan Knight, Steven Seagal, and Jamie Cullum.

Of course, after Piranha made it through alongside Air Fryer, Bubble Tea, Owl, and Eiffel Tower, we haven't been informed of the character's true identity just yet.

On Saturday (6th January) night's episode, it was Chicken Caesar who lost their place on the show, with the character later being unveiled as Alexander Armstrong.

Speaking about his experience on the show, he said: “I’ve been longing to do it, every year I’m always getting messages saying are you so and so? Are you Traffic Cone? And I say maybe! I’ve loved it, it's the beginning of the journey and the end of the journey but what a journey it's been!”

The Masked Singer continues on ITV/STV every Saturday night.
