We are very near the end of the third season of The Masked Singer, the bonkers TV show which sees celebrities wearing extravagant costumes as they compete against each other to become the series winner.

Now, after much speculation, fans of the show believe they know who is inside the Mushroom costume.

Using clues such as her accent and nuggets of information about her past, viewers believe that the singer is Charlotte Church.

The latest clue that seemed to spark excitement that Mushroom could in fact be the Welsh singer, was that there was a fake phone number on her VT, and it showed the number 345997.

Viewers took those numbers and converted them to letters, which resulted in the word eglwys, which is the Welsh for church. 🤔Clever!

However, that isn't the only clue that fans have noticed. A newspaper journalist took to Twitter recently saying: 'Charlotte Church became famous after calling in to this morning in 1997? The call number and it ending in 97? Am I reaching? #MaskedSingerUK #maskedsinger'.

Others replied to her saying: 'This is some real detective work, CharlotteWoman detective We love it!', with another replying: 'Yes, I think she's mushroom'.

Another tweet mentioned more clues from the VT with a perfume bottle by KK which could be in reference to Charlotte Church's character in Heartbeat, Katie Kendall'.
