The Games: Everything you need to know about ITV's new live show

Popular TV host Holly Willoughby has joined forces with former England cricketer Freddie Flintoff for a brand new ITV show called The Games.

What is The Games?

The Games is a revived TV show which will see a whole host of celebs 'stepping out of their comfort zones' to be coached and trained, before they compete in Olympic Games, in the athletics arena, swimming pool, gymnasium and the velodrome.

Each of the six male and female celebs will battle it out across all areas of The Games, putting their sporting prowess to the test in events such as diving, spiriting, cycling and gymnastics.

All of the episodes will show the celeb's journey and preparation for The Games as they are taught the brand new sports from scratch, by some of the top coaches across the UK.

At the end of the competition, one male and one female celeb will be crowned the champions, with the results being determined by the all-important leaderboard.

The Games kicks off on Monday 9th May 2022.

The Games will air live every weekday at 9pm on ITV. Episodes are also available on the ITV Hub,

Who is hosting The Games?

The Games will be fronted by This Morning star Holly Willoughby and former England cricketer Freddie Flintoff.

Former England Ladies footballer Alex Scott will feature as trackside reporter, whilst Chris Kamara will act as the commentator.

Has The Games been on TV before?

You may think The Games sounds quite familiar! That's because the original show ran on Channel 4 between 2003-2006, hosted by Jamie Theakston.

Running for four different series, The Games featured celebs such as MC Harvey, James Hewitt, Charlie Dimmock, Pat Sharp, Chesney Hawkes, Philip Olivier and Shane Lynch.

The brand new series of The Games starts on ITV on Monday 9th May.
