If you're a fan of ITV quiz show The Chase, you'll be aware that if there's a single contestant left at the end, it's a major struggle for them to actually beat the Chaser and take home the prize money.

HOWEVER, viewers were left on edge and later overjoyed during Tuesday night's (31st August) episode, as 20-year-old contestant Eden showed off his amazing quizzing skills to bring Chaser Darragh Ennis' six-month winning streak to a dramatic end, winning an incredible £75,000 in the process.

After winning £3,000 during the initial cash builder stage, Eden shocked viewers when he opted to go for the higher offer of £75,000...

Despite all three of his team mates being knocked out by Darragh, Eden managed to get back home without being caught by the Chaser, leaving him with the life-changing amount to play for.

After Eden answered a huge 18 questions correctly, Darragh knew he would have to be on top form to continue his unbeaten run, but with a number of push backs from the 20-year-old, the clock ticked down, making Eden the show's biggest ever solo winner in terms of the cash prize!

An ecstatic Bradley Walsh said: "I can't believe it! This is incredible, he's 20 years old and just won £75,000. It's the single highest win in daytime history."

A beaten Darragh then added: "You did very well, it was all about the pushbacks in the end."

Bosses of The Chase later wrote on Instagram: 'It's been 9 months since he first became a Chaser, but @bonesgiles has had his FIRST EVER loss! 😱 And, not only that, it was in a Final Chase for the history books! Eden, at only 20 years old, has won the highest amount for a single player EVER with an astonishing £75,000! 😱😱😱 Well done to Eden AND Darragh on an INCREDIBLE Final Chase 👏👏👏'. (sic)

Fans of the show were quick to congratulate young Eden on his amazing performance online. One wrote: 'He’ll be the next chaser in a few years. I guarantee it', with another writing: 'He was absolutely brilliant and so humble.'.

A third wrote: 'What a satisfying game honestly, really glad for Eden🙌🙌', with another writing: 'Wow, a massive congratulations Eden , you were amazing, enjoy your £75,000 👍👍'. (sic)
