Netflix is reportedly working on producing 'several spin-off shows' for the hugely popular series Wednesday. Series one of the show hit the platform in November 2022, with Jenna Ortega taking on the role of Wednesday Addams.

The show, which is based on characters from The Addams Family, has proven incredibly popular with viewers, amassing over 250 million views in 2022.

According to Bloomberg, Netflix is planning to produce spin-off shows which focus on different members of the iconic Addams family, beginning with Uncle Fester (played by Fred Armisen).

Although Netflix has not yet confirmed that an Uncle Fester series will happen, it is said to be keen to develop a 'pipeline' of Addams Family shows in order to build on the success of Wednesday.

Back in January, Netflix delighted fans by confirming that there will be a second series of Wednesday. However, Netflix is yet to announce the release date for series two.

Speaking about what fans can expect from Wednesday in the second series, Jenna Ortega told Variety: "We're ditching any romantic love interest for Wednesday, which is really great. We've decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more.

"Because it is so light-hearted, and a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don't want to take yourself too seriously."
