Netflix reveal the most popular places to binge-watch
What's your favourite series?
We all know and love a binge-watch, with series such as Orange Is The New Black, The Crown and Stranger Things topping Netflix popularity list. However, recent research from Netflix has revealed that a high proportion of binge-watchers love to catch up on the go, rather than at home!
According to Netflix, members watching fan favourites such as Stranger Things in public are turning traditional viewing habits Upside Down. Nearly half of those surveyed like to binge-watch in public - even getting emotional as they're doing it!
Whilst binge-watching on the move is a great way to while away your commute, it seems that 44% of Brits get annoyed by nosey onlookers, whilst 20% physically move to avoid series snoopers!
Are you guilty of watching over someone's shoulder?
In North West England over two thirds of Netflix members admitted to bingeing over someone’s shoulder.
It's not all bad news though, you could make new 'commuter friends' as the research has also revealed that over a quarter of public binge-watchers will have their show or movie interrupted by a fellow passenger wanting to start a conversation about what they’re watching.
And if you're in the West Midlands and Yorkshire, you are more likely to laugh out loud!
The East of England has been found to be the most un-phased region, with 39% getting annoyed at others sharing their screen, however only 14% act on their frustration and move position.
And the East Midlands has also proved to be the most ‘proper’ region, as residents don't like content involving drugs, torture and sex.
Recently it has been revealed that the average commuting time has increased from 48 minutes to an hour. Therefore it's no surprise that Netflix have found that 26% of train travellers and 16% of bus travellers use the journey to binge-watch, seeing it as the perfect opportunity to catch up on their favourite shows.
Away from home and commuting the work place is also a popular place to binge-watch with around a fifth of people owning up to watching series at work - in their lunch hours we presume!
This month Netflix added great films such Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Magic Mike XXL, The Revenant, and Hellboy, to their service as well as some Netflix Original films and series.
