During the episode, Jacques opened up to Paige about his decision to leave, telling her: "I just wish I could finish my journey off with you in here but I’m going to go home today."

“You’ve got to still enjoy your time here. Just do what you need to do and I’ll be waiting for you. I just know for us to work I need us to get back to myself and the only way I’m going to get back to myself is going home."

Speaking later in the beach hut, Jacques admitted: "I’d say in the last week, the only thing keeping me in this place was Paige. That’s the only thing I was staying for. I’ve never felt this way for anyone so I just want to get home, be myself again and carry things on the outside.

Love Island 2022 clothes

In previous years, Love Island has teamed up with various fashion brands in order to deck the Islanders out with all of the latest trends - with viewers able to head to the brand's website in order to shop the looks. In more recent years, Love Island has teamed up with Boohoo owned brand I Saw It First.

HOWEVER, the 2022 series of the show took different approach!

In 2022 Love Island teamed up with eBay, in order to supply the Islanders with pre-loved clothing in efforts to promote sustainability. And it's not just the Islanders that are promoting sustainability, with host Laura Whitmore up-cycling outfits that she has worn on previous seasons.

In another move which differed from previous seasons, the Islanders did not take clothing home with them, in an effort to reduce waste. Love Island and celebrity stylist Amy Bannerman told GQ: 'Unfortunately they won't be able to, which in previous seasons they have.

'All the clothes will go back to a second-hand seller called Go Thrift, where they'll be resold, or they will go to the charity shops that eBay works with. We want to make the entire process waste free.'

Love Island and eBay bosses are hoping the new change on the show inspires viewers to shop for pre-loved items, or sell clothes that they no longer wear.

Love Island's 2022 support protocols:

Ahead of the series, show bosses confirmed that contestants will receive "comprehensive psychological support" throughout all stages of their experience on the show, including "at least eight therapy sessions" as well as bespoke training on the impact of social media, handling potential negativity and financial management.

Contestants will also receive a proactive aftercare package, which extends support to all Islanders following their participation on the show, including guidance and advice on taking on management after the show.

Ade Rawcliffe, Group Director of Diversity and Inclusion at ITV, said: “The world we live in is changing every day, and we want all of our Islanders to feel they are part of an inclusive environment in the Villa. As part of our duty of care process, it is also important we play our part in educating our participants to understand and empathise with different perspectives and lived experiences.”
