Love Island 2019 cast wages REVEALED
It isn't as much as we thought!
Last updated 29th Jul 2019
It's the biggest reality TV show in the UK right now, with thousands of singletons applying to be on Love Island! Of course, who wouldn't want to sit around a pool all day in Mallorca trying to crack on with some VERY good looking people in a stunning villa?
Now, one mystery of the show has been cleared up. The eternal conundrum of how much Love Island contestants get paid to appear on the show.
We've always wondered how their rent gets paid when they’re on the show. Do they all quit their jobs beforehand? How long can one really live on their Instagram posts?
Well now we have the answers - let's find out how much the likes of Molly-Mae Hague, Tommy Fury, Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea are pocketing.
How much do Love Island contestants get paid?
The contestants get paid £250 a week to appear on the show, which really isn't much at all when you think about it!
According to the Daily Star, this year's Islanders will receive £250 per week to 'compensate' the time they are giving up to be in the villa. This might not seem a huge amount, but if they are in from start to finish, the Islanders could make a cool £2000 for sitting around the luxurious villa. Not bad!
Despite this, a source has told the publication they think it's not enough, adding, "Everyone now knows that stepping into that villa brings good and bad things.
"They risk coming out and being trolled on Twitter, their dreams of being a big reality star dashed, work dries up and ending up feeling depressed and having issues."
And of course they get free food and accommodation too!
Check out the Love Island rich list:
£4.4 million: Alex Bowen and Olivia Buckland
After meeting on Love Island in 2016, Alex Bowen and Olivia Buckland proved Love Island love does exist, tying the knot in a lucrative ceremony in 2018.
The couple have proved staying together is certainly worthwhile, racking up a massive £4.4 million since they left the infamous villa.

£1.7 million: Dani Dyer
From the moment she appeared on Love Island in 2018, Dani Dyer was destined to make a ton of money... Her dad is THE Danny Dyer after all.
Dani made her first major pay packet when she won the show alongside Jack Fincham back in 2018, landing a share of £50K.

Although she's now split from Jack, Dani continues to roll in the money, landing deals with the likes of In The Style and Cadbury's.
Dani also picks up a LUDICROUS £15,000 for her Instagram posts, and in 2019 she released her debut book 'What Would Dani Do? My Guide to Living Your Best Life'.
As if this wasn't enough, the popular reality star recently launched her own eyelash product with make-up brand SOSU By SJ.
£1.6 million: Amber Davies
Since winning Love Island alongside Kem Cetinay back in 2017, Amber Davies has made a cool £1.6 million from various different ventures.
After taking her share of the £50K prize money, Amber went on to bigger and better things.

Pursuing her dream of being on stage, Amber landed her dream role in Dolly Parton's West End musical 9 To 5 alongside the likes of Louise Redknapp, and she's received amazing reviews.
The brunette has also collaborated with clothing brand Motel Rocks, picking up a sound £500,000 deal with them.
Amber also makes her money through her Instagram, reportedly receiving around £10K per post.
£1.5 million: Kem Cetinay
Ah, the lovely Kem Cetinay! Just like his ex-girlfriend Amber, winning Love Island certainly helped the former hairdresser build up his bank balance.
Earning around £1.5 million since leaving the villa as a champion in 2017, Kem was in demand!
Kem Cetinay
As well as landing a record deal with his Love Island BFF Chris Hughes (and a TV show to follow), Kem has appeared on Dancing On Ice, on which he landed a backstage reporter role the following year.
From this, Kem joined This Morning team as their showbiz reporter, and in 2019 he was unveiled as Primark's first ever male ambassador.
Just like the others, Kem also makes his money on social media, racking up around £8K for his Insta posts.
£1.4 million: Chris Hughes
Not to even mention the fact he's now dating Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson, Chris Hughes has certainly enjoyed success since fathering Cash Hughes in 2017.
Chris Hughes
Upon leaving the villa, Chris landed his own TV show alongside his ex-girlfriend Olivia Attwood, and then another with his best mate Kem Cetinay.
The cheeky-chap has worked with the likes of McDonald's, First Choice, Topman and Carphone Warehouse since leaving the villa, bringing in massive amounts of money.
Chris has also put his horse racing passion to good use, presenting a number of shows, as well as releasing a book called You Bantering Me?
£1.3 million: Kady McDermott
Following in the footsteps of her 2016 co-stars Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen, Kady McDermott has also done well for herself following the show.
Despite not staying together with her Love Island BF Scott Thomas, Kady has earned a cool £1.3 million in the last two years.
Kady McDermott
Kady started making money immediately after leaving the villa, charging around £10K for personal appearances alongside Scott.
She later launched a fitness plan and beauty line, and appeared on TOWIE in early 2019 alongside her boyfriend Myles Barnett.
£1.3 million: Gabby Allen
Despite her Love Island boyfriend Marcel Sommerville 'cheating' on her whilst the pair were on holiday, it hasn't all been bad news for the Scouser.
Various different deals and endorsements have made Gabby £1.3 million.
Gabby Allen
Using her passion of fitness to make money, Gabby launched her own app and fitness programme 'Shape Up With Gabby'.
She also appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2018.
Gabz, who is now dating X Factor star Myles Stephenson, also made her money through clothing brands like Quiz, and she also makes around £2000 per Instagram post.
£1.2 million: Olivia Attwood
She wasn't immediately liked by Love Island viewers in 2017, but Olivia Attwood has certainly changed the public's perception, racking up approximately £1.2 million since leaving the villa.
Olivia Attwood
Although she split from Love Island boyfriend Chris Hughes not long after the show finished, Olivia made money from their TV show, before making an appearance on Celebs Go Dating and various other panel shows.
Since then, Olivia has got back together with her footballer ex-boyfriend Bradley Dack and continued to make a killing from promotional deals.
Liv charges £10k for personal appearances, and makes a lovely little £2k for her Instagram posts.
She's also got a magazine column and landed a clothing deal with In The Style, and she's on TOWIE!
£1.1 million: Megan Barton-Hanson
She only appeared on Love Island last year, but Megan Barton-Hanson has already made herself a millionaire.
Despite her split from Wes Nelson, Megan has gone on to become mega popular with a number of brands, landing herself £1.1 million.
Megan Barton-Hanson
After leaving the villa, Megan landed a number of clothing deals, the most lucrative with Pretty Little Thing. Despite turning down a number of personal appearances, the blonde bombshell seems to be in demand.
Revealing she's open to dating both men and women, Megan appeared on the seventh series of E4 show Celebs Go Dating, and she released her autobiography in 2019.
£1 million: Jack Fincham
Just like his ex-girlfriend Dani Dyer, Jack was instantly popular when he appeared on the show in 2018, winning a share of £50,000.
Fast-forward one year, Jack's life has completely changed, with the former pen salesman earning around £1 million.
Jack Fincham
As well as landing a TV show alongside Dani, Jack teamed up with brands like McDonald's and Protein World, and his debut clothing line is due out later in the year.
Add to this his stationary line, sponsored posts and appearances, Jack's bank balance is building by the day.
The lovable star also appeared on Celebs Go Dating later in 2018, alongside friend and fellow Islander Megan Barton-Hanson.
And once the brand new celebrities have left the villa, all manner of new opportunities present themselves, of course. Because despite not actually earning money while being on the show, the Islanders can cash-in on the big bucks by doing Instagram ads and club appearances when they leave.
