Following the amazing news that series six of BBC drama Line of Duty will include seven episodes instead of the usual six, bosses have now announced a brand new cast member in the form of British actress Shalom Brune-Franklin.
Shalom, who most recently played the role of Private Maisie Richards in Our Girl, will join AC-12 as DC Chloe Bishop, working alongside main characters Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar), Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott (Martin Compston), and Detective Inspector Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) to crack down on bent cops.
The news was unveiled this morning (Wednesday 3rd February) on the official Line of Duty social media accounts.
In an 'email' sent to all AC-12 staff by Superintendent Hastings, the message read, 'I am writing to inform you that DC Chloe Bishop (Shalom Brune-Franklin) will be joining AC-12 to assist in their important work on a tricky upcoming cast. This action will be effective immediately.
'AC-12's highest priority will always be capturing ben coppers. With that in mind, we have requested and been granted an extension of an extra episode for our next series, making it our longest yet.
'In the meantime, to see AC-12 sucking diesel, footage from DI Denton's case will be repeated on BBC One weekly from Saturday 6th February at 9pm.'
As it was reported last week, the new post confirms old episodes from series two of Line of Duty will be shown weekly to get fans excited for the hugely-anticipated series six.
Although there's been no word of an exact start date for series six, we expect it to be around the week commencing 15th March 2021.
