Actor Jason Momoa is set to appear on CBeebies Bedtime Stories. The Aquaman star will be getting cosy in black silk striped pyjamas and a purple cardigan as he reads the children's tale Tiddler, written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

Speaking about appearing on the show, Jason said: "One of my favourite books that I read to my children as they were growing up was The Gruffalo, so I am very happy to read another amazing story by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler for a CBeebies Bedtime Story."

As he opens the book, the 44-year-old says: "I'm here to read you a Bedtime Story from my underwater kingdom. The sea is full of stories. I could tell you many tales of my amazing adventures in the sea, but I'm not the only one.

"Every creature in the ocean, from the mightiest whale to the tiniest tiddler, has their own tale to tell. And this book is about a very little fish who has some very big stories of his own."

When will Jason Momoa's CBeebies Bedtime Stories episode air?

The episode of CBeebies Bedtime Stories will air on Friday (22nd December) at 6:50pm on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer. Jason will be concluding Christmas week on the much-loved show, with Tom Hardy, Mr Motivator, Talia Mar and Gaz Coombes also having made appearances.

Meanwhile, on Christmas Eve, Justin Fletcher will appear as Father Christmas as he reads The Night Before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore. On Christmas Day, Justin will be accompanied by Dodge The Dog as he reads The Hospital Dog, written by Julie Donaldson and illustrated by Sara Ogilvie.
