Jake Quickenden CONFIRMS Hollyoaks role with heartfelt post

Former star of The X Factor and Dancing On Ice 2018 winner Jake Quickenden has been gunning for a role on Hollyoaks for ages - but his dreams have finally come true! The 30-year-old, who has just been on a UK tour of musical Hair!, has taken to Instagram to confirm he's going to be on the show.

Not only that, but Jake added that he's already started filming on the soap, reuniting with his Dancing On Ice co-star Stephanie Waring, who plays Cindy Cunningham on the show. Posting a photo of himself stood next to the iconic Hollyoaks sign on Instagram, Jake wrote, 'This is pretty blooooming exciting, so yeah after doing a musical tour for the past six month I’m now joining the amazing @hollyoaksofficial family.

'First day yesterday and everyone was so lovely the cast the crew the lot ❤️❤️!! Excited to test myself again at something new... don’t let people tell you you can’t, work hard and good things will happen!! 🙌🏼.' sic

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Jake added that knowing Steph had been a huge help to him, "It’s very exciting and it’s a privilege. Hollyoaks is such an amazing show and it’s been around for so long; to be asked to come and have a role on it, it’s amazing.

"I’m really happy. I’ve had a great day and everyone’s so sound. It’s nice to arrive somewhere new and know someone like Steph Waring too, she’s made it really easy to fit in."

Although there's no word yet on which character Jake will be playing, or how long he'll be on the soap, it's being reported that he's been filming with legendary characters Nick Pickard (Tony Hutchinson), Ashley Taylor Dawson (Darren Osborne), Sarah Jayne Dunn (Mandy Richardson) and Gary Lucy (Luke Morgan).

Hollyoaks airs on Channel 4 every weeknight at 6.30pm, with First Look on E4 at 7pm.
