An axed celebrity wants to return to I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here
He appeared on the 2017 series
Last updated 1st Mar 2018
The 2017 series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here was great! Not only did we see the BEST friendship between Stanley Johnson and eventual Queen of the Jungle Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo, the show brought some hilarious moments every night.
But there was a sour part of the series when YouTuber Jack Maynard was forced to leave the jungle after just three days, when a series of old tweets deemed homophobic and racist surfaced online.
As Jack's team pulled him from the show so he could defend himself, his jungle journey was over before it even got started.
But now, Jack has returned to the limelight and it looks like he is VERY keen to re-enter the show for the 2018 series, which is due to air later in the year.
Appearing on today's episode of Good Morning Britain, the 23-year-old told show hosts Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard, "I think I would go back in just to prove myself as I didn’t get the worst of it while I was in there. Maybe I deserve it, who knows!”
Jack was on the show to promote his upcoming new tour, but he also explained to viewers at home exactly what happened when he left the jungle.
He said, "It was quite scary because I got taken out early in the morning, and I didn’t know what was going on. I was taken to the medical hut and met by producers, who didn’t tell me what was gong on and said, ‘there’s been some accusations, we have to take you out'".

It read, "In the last few days Jack has been the subject of a succession of media stories which, given his position as a contestant on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here - filmed in the Australian jungle, with no contact with the outside world, he has been unable to respond to.
"Since it is only fair that everyone should be aware of any allegations made against them and should also have the right to defend themselves, it was agreed that it would be better to bring him out of the show. Jack agrees with this decision which was made by his representatives and ITV and thanks everyone who has supported him in the show this far."
After he'd returned to the UK, Jack then uploaded a lengthy video apologising for his 'horrible tweets' to his massive online following.
Jack captioned the video with, 'I'm sorry. You all deserve answers as to what's been going on in the press recently, I have filmed a video to apologise for what I've said in the past and to thank you all for the incredible support. '
Admitting he'd been "really stupid" in the past, Jack said he was "young" and "careless" when he posted the "horrible tweets". He then added, "I'm so sorry to anyone that I offended, anyone that I upset, anyone I made feel uncomfortable."
You can watch his full apology below:
The video has since had nearly three million views on YouTube, with Jack having 1.3 million subscribers to his page.
Will we see him in the 2018 series?
