He was constantly hungry

It's safe to say the hardest part of taking part in this year's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here for Owen Warner was the lack of food, with the Hollyoaks star forever telling his camp mates just how hungry he was for three weeks.

Now he's out as runner-up, it looks like 23-year-old Owen is making up for lost time, filling his boots with all sorts of food and treats as the celebrities relax at the Marriott Hotel in Australia.

How much weight did Owen lose on I'm A Celeb?

Sharing photos and videos of himself on Instagram tucking into some tasty looking treats, Owen revealed he lost a massive 8kg during his time in the jungle.

He told fans: 'āœ… Food āœ… Haircut āœ… More food

'Slowly settling back in to real life (and putting back the 8kg I lost in the jungle) #FeedOwen'. (sic)

Owen's hunger became a running joke in camp, with camp mates like Jill Scott, Matt Hancock, Sue Cleaver, and Boy George often joking they needed to bring back all of the stars in order to #FeedOwen.

The actor, who plays Romeo Nightingale in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, was vocal about his usual protein-filled diet, admitting he usually eats up to six meals per day, with snacks on top whilst filming.

Owen also admitted he missed his mum during the show, and left viewers in tears when he ran across the studio to give her a huge hug during the live final, before being surprised by his brothers.

Speaking to Mail Online about the tough three weeks, Owen said: "It was amazing in there, but it was very, very, hard.

"I went into it with the mentality that I was going to breeze it. I thought, I'm an athletic geezer, I can do the challenges, I didn't think about the food that much, and I didn't think about the missing the family aspect.

"I live in Liverpool and my family is in Leicester, so I thought that's easy, I go two weeks without going home, I'll be able to survive that.

"But I'm FaceTiming my mum daily, so you don't realise how fortunate we are to be able to speak to people constantly, to be able to eat whenever you feel like eating, to be able to occupy time, if we are bored here, I can go somewhere else and have fun.

"To be told you have got to stay in one place, you can only eat a certain amount of food, and you can't talk to anyone but the people around you, like it hits you."
