Jill Scott sends emotional message to fans after winning I'm A Celeb

A truly deserved winnner!

I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here may be over for another year, but the 2022 series which returned to Australia certainly didn't disappoint!

The hit series, hosted by Ant and Dec, concluded on Sunday 27th November as Matt Hancock, Owen Warner and Jill Scott battled it out to become the latest winner of the show. After it was announced earlier in the show that former health secretary Matt had finished in third place, Lioness Jill Scott was later crowned the new Queen of the Jungle.

WINNER: Jill Scott

Third place vote: 47.29%
Final vote: 57.66%

2ND PLACE: Owen Warner

Third place vote: 30.99%
Final vote: 42.34%

3RD PLACE: Matt Hancock

Third place vote: 21.72%

Before heading back to the luxury hotel for a clean and some food, 35-year-old Jill recorded a message to fans, thanking them for their votes.

She said: "I'm just totally in shock to be honest. I don't know why everyone voted, but just a massive, massive thankyou and I'm so honoured to be Queen of the Jungle.

"Thankyou so much!"

After seeing the results during Sunday night's live final, fans of the show were quick to take to social media to express their delight at the new Queen of the Jungle, responding to her grateful message.

One wrote: 'Stay humble Jill! You’ve been such a role model for girls this past year! Thank you ❤️', with another adding: 'Because your genuine, down to earth, laid back, fun, likeable, talented and a joy to watch!! Congrats!!!'. (sic)

Jill's England team mate Beth Mead then wrote: '❤️❤️❤️', with Fran Kirby adding: 'Such a deserving winner! Smashed it Jill 🙌'. (sic)

Ant and Dec also expressed their excitement after Jill's victory. The Geordie boys wrote on social media: 'Why helloooooo Jill 😂 our new Jungle Queen! 🎉🙌 The Lioness has left the Rat Race, and now she’s coming home with the crown 👑👏 Good to see you 😉 Australia, and thank you all so much for watching! x'. (sic)

The nation fell in love with Gino in 2009.

10. Stacey Solomon

After showing off her bubbly personality on The X Factor, Stacey Solomon entered the jungle and won the show in 2010.

11. Dougie Poynter

McFly guitarist Dougie Poynter was crowned King of the Jungle ahead of TOWIE's Mark Wright in 2011.

12. Charlie Brooks

EastEnders actress Charlie Brooks couldn't believe it when Ant and Dec announced her as the winner in 2012.

13. Kian Egan

After 22 days in the jungle, Westlife star Kian Egan was crowned the King in 2013.

14. Carl 'Foggy' Fogarty

Retired world super bike racer Carl 'Foggy' Fogarty won over the viewing public in 2014.

15. Vicky Pattison

Vicky Pattison showed a different side to her usual Geordie Shore antics, winning over the public and being crowned Queen of the Jungle.

16. Scarlett Moffatt

Former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt was crowned Queen of the Jungle after winning the show in 2016.

17. Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo

Made In Chelsea star Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo won the show in 2017 after beating Jamie Lomas.

18. Harry Redknapp

Former football manager Harry Redknapp is the current King of the Jungle after beating Emily Atack in 2018.

19. Jacqueline Jossa

Despite the likes of Ian Wright and Caitlyn Jenner signing up for the 2019 series, it was former EastEnders actress Jac Jossa who was crowned Queen of the Jungle, beating Coronation Street's Andy Whyment in the final.

20. Giovanna Fletcher

Podcaster Giovanna Fletcher became the first ever Queen of the Castle in 2020, going up against the likes of Shane Richie, Vernon Kay and Mo Farah!

21. Danny Miller

Emmerdale actor Danny Miller became the first ever KING of the Castle in 2021 after a hectic series. He went up against the likes of David Ginola, Simon Gregson and Frankie Bridge!

22. Jill Scott MBE

Former England footballer Jill Scott MBE topped her amazing year off by being crowned the Queen of the Jungle in November 2022. Jill won the show ahead of Owen Warner and Matt Hancock.

23. Sam Thompson

Radio presenter and TV personality Sam Thompson took the crown in 2023, winning the public's hearts and votes ahead of Tony Bellew and Nigel Farage.

After 23 days in the jungle, Jill reunited with her fiancée Shelly Unitt following her astounding victory, with the pair being photographed arriving at the Marriott Hotel in a luxury gold hummer.

Jill then appeared on Good Morning Britain via a video stream this morning (Monday 28th November), where she spoke about any future plans to go into TV presenting, and her thoughts on Matt Hancock.

When Susanna Reid asked whether Jill had any plans to go into television presenting and if she would even consider taking over on Good Morning Britain, Jill responded saying: “This has taken two showers and two baths just to smell half decent.

“I haven't got any plans. Once I retired I should’ve really had a plan in place, so that's how I kind of landed in the jungle. But I think your job is very safe!”

Speaking about Matt Hancock, Jill said: “To be fair he smashed the trials so as long as he was feeding us, I was happy.”

Although the series is over for another year, fans will be given one last glimpse of this year's camp mates during the I'm A Celeb reunion show, which airs on ITV on Thursday 1st December.
