Why did Olivia Attwood leave I'm A Celeb in 2022?

After just 24 hours in camp, former Love Island star Olivia Attwood was forced to quit the jungle on a precautionary measure.

An ITV spokesman has now said: "As a precautionary measure Olivia needed to leave the jungle to undergo some medical checks. Unfortunately, the medical team has advised it is not safe for Olivia to return to camp as there needs to be further investigation. She has been absolutely brilliant and she'll be very much missed on the show.”

A week after her exit, Olivia was interviewed by Mail On Sunday, where she revealed the real reason for her departure was due to a routine blood test showing she as dangerously anaemic.

She said: "I was so scared, I was like 'what the hell is wrong with me?' They couldn't give me an answer, they just told me that they had to get me to the hospital immediately.

"The results were really, really low when they put them into their reader and they consulted with another doctor off site. I had those bloods done in England before I left, and they were fine. I was confused and of course very, very worried."

Although Olivia's tests at A&E were normal, bosses made the decision to not allow her back into camp as s precautionary measure.

On her return to the UK, Olivia appeared on This Morning, where she told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield that she'd love to return to the jungle on a future series.

'Whoever does end up in the legendary jungle camp will find themselves cut off from the outside world and their fate will be in the hands of viewers who could decide to send them into a dreaded Bushtucker Trial.

'Our BAFTA award-winning hosts Ant & Dec are back to present all the big stories live every night. Who will be crowned this year’s King or Queen of the Jungle? Find out this Autumn on ITV.'
