Evil George Kiss was murdered in the Hollyoaks village but all eyes are on John Paul McQueen who has been arrested for killing him.
However next week, when Theresa McQueen does some digging she discovers who the false witness is and is quick to prove John Paul's innocence.
With a little help with James Nightingale, they're able to get John Paul released from prison - but he's still the prime suspect.
Meanwhile the actual murderer prepares to tell the truth - but will they go through with it? Or will someone else manage to stop their confession?
There's relationship drama in store for James and Ste Hay, Cher McQueen continues to gaslight her step-mum Mercedes McQueen and Martine Deveraux makes a shocking announcement.
Elsewhere Juliet Nightingale and Peri Lomax prepare to take their relationship to the next step and Darren Osborne plans to tell Nancy how he really feels.

While James tells John Paul that pleading guilty will secure a shorter sentence, Theresa does some digging and manages to find out who the 'witness' is that lied. Later she proves John Paul's innocence and he's released but while he continues to be the main suspect, the real killer plans to tell the truth.
Ste is worried that James' feelings for John Paul could be reignited if he works of his case, so the lawyer decides to drop it. However he secretly helps Theresa - leaving Ste furious. How will James make it up to him?
Cher continues to gaslight Mercedes by playing baby crying noises out loud. Later, Romeo Nightingale tries to help out by asking Cher to give her step-mum a 'glow up'. However when people on social media say Mercedes is hot, it leaves Cher very jealous...
Martine makes a shocking announcement regarding her treatment. Later on, she stands up to the woman who was rude to her in the interview. By the end of the week she comes to a realisation...
