They are two of the biggest TV presenters around in the UK (after Ant and Dec of course), but Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's presenting duties on daytime show This Morning have ended for another year.

The popular duo, who are also set to front the brand new series of Dancing On Ice in 2020, won't be back on the show until the new year, along with a brand new extended This Morning show.

Just like the rest of the holidays in the year, Holly and Phillip have time off at Christmas and will therefore be replaced by married couple Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes for the rest of 2019.

The news of their extra-long Christmas break was announced by Holly and Phillip at the end of today's show, (Thursday 12th December), which included an interview with Peppa Pig star Harley Bird and a LIVE Nativity play by some very adorable children.

Whilst a lot of This Morning viewers took to Twitter to wish the pair a Merry Christmas, it seems a number of fans weren't happy at how much time the presenting duo are getting off at Christmas.

One user wrote, 'Their last show of 2019 = Lazy sods. 8 hours a week must be so tiring. #ThisMorning', with another adding, 'Aww Smugfield & Holly’s last day of hosting until after Christmas... they must be shattered after doing. 2 hours a day 4 days a week. Bless 🙄 #ThisMorning'. sic

Meanwhile, after the axing of The Jeremy Kyle Show earlier this year, ITV have confirmed a brand new schedule for their ITV daytime shows, with This Morning due to broadcast for an addition 30 minutes every weekday morning.

Good Morning Britain will also air for an extra 30 mins, between 6am-9am, with Lorraine's one hour slot moving to 9am-10am. This Morning will then fill the gap between 10am-12.30pm, before Loose Women airs in the usual slot of 12.30pm-1.30pm.

These changes will begin in January 2020.
