Sad news for fans of the hit teen drama series, Gossip Girl, as it has been revealed Netflix is removing all eight seasons of the show from the streaming platform - what series are we going to binge over and over again now?

Earlier this week, Netflix released the list of titles entering and leaving the service at the end of December 2020 and fans can’t believe the iconic show, which is based on the novel series by Cecily von Ziegesar, is being removed.

The series which launched the careers of Hollywood actress Blake Lively and Penn Badgley, who stars in Netflix hit series You, ended in 2012 but has had fans returning to re-watch the series ever since.

HBO have announced that they are currently working on a Gossip Girl reboot, which is set to premier on the platform sometime in 2021. The remake of the famous show is being filmed in New York City with an all new cast but is still following the lives of a number of upper-middle class high schoolers in the city.

However, it is rumoured that social media will be one of the big changes in the shows new format, as we all know a lot has changed since the show started in 2007, although we love the flip phones and blog writing nostalgia the programme gives us!

TV shows we can't wait for the return of in 2021:

Unfortunately, there has been no word on the show’s new home just yet, but it wouldn’t be surprising if it was joining the new series over on HBO’s platform in 2021.

So, get your snacks ready for one last binge-watch, if you start now you might be able to squeeze all eight series in before the end of the year!

XOXO
