We are only three shows in to the 2019 series of Dancing On Ice, but already we've seen more drama than the entire 2018 series. As well as Wes Nelson's girlfriend Megan Barton-Hanson coming to blows with Vanessa Bauer, Gemma Collins threatened to quit after Holly Willoughby called her 'unprofessional', and now the former TOWIE star has argued with controversial judge Jason Gardiner live on air.

After Gemma and Matt's performance in Musicals Week, the reality star and Jason came to blows during the judging, with both exchanging words in a very awkward confrontation for viewers to witness.

When Jason compared Gemma to Anna Nicole Smith, instead of her character Marilyn Monroe, Gemma hit back, throwing shade at Jason for 'selling stories' on her.

Giving her a score of 3.0, Jason told Gemma, "You were more like Anna Nicole Smith – there was no elegance, you were all over the place, there wasn't enough skating, we're not going to see lifts from you."

Clearly furious, Gemma replied, “Maybe if you didn't sell stories on me I wouldn't have been so upset and could have concentrated on my routine more."

It comes after reports were rife last week that Gemma had quit the popular show, following Holly Willoughby's comments about her professionalism. After Holly and her This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield revealed she'd fallen asleep on set, Gemma took to social media to reveal she was 'heartbroken'.

Posting a video of herself in training to her Instagram Story, Gemma told her followers, "So sorry for my eyes looking so heavy. Obviously I've been really devastated by all the hurtful press reports this week, which haven't been true.

"But I'm not giving up, I'm not quitting. I'm here with the team.

"I've got the shakes where I've been so upset. Please don't believe what's been put out there. Do I want to quit? Yes but I'm not gonna. It's really got me down this week but I hope you enjoy our routine this Sunday."

Meanwhile, despite Gemma receiving a low score from the judges, the 37-year-old made it through to next week's show, with actor Richard Blackwood becoming the second celebrity to get eliminated.

Dancing On Ice continues next Sunday at 6pm.
