Game of Thrones' final season may have finished airing exactly a month ago today, but that doesn't mean that fans of the series have recovered from the traumatic events of Season 8. Not only was it full of hugely dramatic storylines, but it was also incredibly controversial, with many viewers calling out the writers for making it seemed 'rushed'.

This led to some rather dissatisfied fans, who felt that certain characters had been skimmed over and not seen endings that they deserved - one of whom was Cersei Lannister, played by Lena Headey.

Take a trip down memory lane to see how the Game of Thrones cast looked then vs. now...

Although Cersei was one of the most hated characters in Westeros, no-one could help but admire how far she'd come on her own steely determination - so when she barely featured in the eighth and final season, some fans thought the character had been let down.

When we went into Season 8, Cersei was already pregnant with her brother Jaime's fourth seasons - but many weren't sure whether she'd been lying about the pregnancy, or whether indeed she'd lost the baby. But this was never explained - until now!

Lena appeared at German ComicCon in Munich over the weekend, and revealed a heartbreaking scene she'd filmed for the final season which unfortunately never made it into the final cut - and it clears things right up.

She said, "We shot a scene that never made it into season seven, which was where I lose the baby. It was a really traumatic, great moment for Cersei, and it never made it in, and I kind of loved doing that because I thought it would have served her differently."

This means that Cersei's confusingly long looks when discussing the baby with both Jaime and Euron Greyjoy, who she started a relationship with, really were over the fact that she'd lost the baby, as many fans suspected.

Lena also recently revealed to The Guardian that she wished Cersei had had a "better death" after the Queen had been crushed to death by the Red Keep falling down at the hands of Daenerys Targaryen, dying in the arms of her brother/lover, Jaime.

She said, "Obviously, you dream of your death. You could go in any way on that show. So I was kind of gutted. But I just think they couldn’t have pleased everyone. No matter what they did, I think there was going to be some big comedown from the climb."
