Since it arrived on Netflix on New Year's Day, you've probably not been able to leave the house without someone asking: "Have you seen Fool Me Once?", and thanks to the stellar cast and outstanding twists and turns, the latest Harlan Coben series quickly become a huge hit around the world.

Made up of eight dramatic episodes, the thriller series features Michelle Keegan, Joanna Lumley and Richard Armitage to name a few, and follows the storyline in Harlan Coben's 2016 novel of the same name.

Without giving away any spoilers about the ending, viewers have been loving the series so much that some have even called it the 'the best show ever', so it's no surprise fans have been calling out for more episodes over the last few months.

Will there be a second series of Fool Me Once?

On 1st April, Netflix seemed to announce a second series of the hit show would air at the end of April, titled Fool Me Twice....

Writing on social media, bosses wrote: 'Having risked her life to end Burkett Global Enterprises, Maya Stern cannot rest in peace while Judith remains free. Fool Me Twice, coming to Netflix, 31 April.' (sic)

HOWEVER, despite the show's insane popularity, we have some bad news for you...

It turns out the post was actually an April Fool's Day prank, but that didn't stop a lot of people falling for it!

Actress Katherine Kelly wrote: 'Yesssssss!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥', whilst Loose Women star Judi Love added: 'Not going to lie!! I was truly here for season 2 😂😂'.

A fan then wrote: 'Haha got excited there and then realised it’s April fools 👏🤣this would be great though', with another adding: 'Interested to see how this sequel evolves… ❤'. (sic)

Due to Fool Me Once being a limited series and being based on the best-selling novel, it appears there are no plans to make any more episodes, especially considering the storyline does actually tie up during the final episode.

A TV source told the Daily Mail earlier this year: "The response to Fool Me Once has been overwhelming. The phone calls and offers have been coming in from Hollywood film executives, it's different to anything Michelle has experienced before. Netflix is a global platform and the show has given her the opportunity to shine. Her career has already been a success but now her star is rising, everyone can feel that this is the beginning of something special."
